Sharing gadgets just got better

Have you ever wanted to tell a friend about a really great game
gadget on href="http://www.google.com/ig?source=igbp" id="fpt0" >iGoogle
or help someone set up a gadget exactly the way you have it? You
can do those things on iGoogle using the Share menu, but what you
couldn't do before today was share a gadget and collaborate
with your friends on the same
gadget data. This means you can now view and edit gadgets
just like href="https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=writely&passive=true&continue=http://docs.google.com/&followup=http://docs.google.com/&ltmpl=homepage&nui=1&rm=false"
id="fe1r" >Google Docs.

A simple gadget to share is one for href="http://www.google.com/ig/directory?hl=en&url=www.google.com/ig/modules/sticky.xml"
id="cl_j" >sticky notes. Enter a grocery
list, share it with family members, and everyone can see and edit
the same list. If you like crosswords, but like me need plenty of
help, just share your href="http://www.google.com/ig/directory?q=crossword&hl=en&url=www.nytimes.com/ads/crosswords/gadget/puzzle.xml"
id="mfr_" >crossword with a friend and
they can work on it with you.

Here's how in three steps:

Step 1: Click the triangle on the gadget you want to share and
click "Share this gadget."

onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"

It’s a coders’ world - we just live in it

Last year we thought we href="http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2004/10/will-code-for-fun-and-money.html" >
hit it big when 7,500 software coders from all over competed
for top prizes in our annual href="http://www.google.com/codejam/" >Google Code Jam. We
didn't know what "big" was until this year's
competition, which concluded today. Not 7,500, not 10,000, but
14,500 programmers hailing from Belarus and China, Venezuela and
Sweden, Macedonia and Spain - among plenty of other places, 32
countries in all - limbered up and got coding in the multi-round
programming competition.

The field narrowed over successive rounds since August 22, and
today we hosted 100 finalists in a href="http://www.google.com/press/pressrel/codejamwinners_2005.html" >
final showdown at the Googleplex for more than $150,000 in
prizes.

Now that the dust has cleared, our second and third place winners,
each of whom receives $5000, are Erik-Jan Krijgsman of the
Netherlands, and Petr Mitrichev from Russia. And the grand prize of
$10,000 goes to Marek Cygan from Poland, who is a student at Warsaw
University.

We were amazed by the talent and energy we've seen here.
Congrats to Marek, Erik-Jan, Petr and all the Google Code Jam
participants. We're already looking forward to next time.

A whole new experience for Google Analytics

A year and a half ago, we released Google Analytics as a free
service to help people measure the success of their Web sites. In
that time, the response has been fantastic - hundreds of thousands
of sites across the Web have access to this powerful analysis
previously only available to the enterprise.

Now, we're taking the next step: making that analysis even more
accessible and easy to use. Today we're announcing a complete
redesign of http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2006/02/here-comes-measure-map.html”>
the Measure Map acquisition. Since then, we've collaborated
with the combined team from Google and http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2005/11/circle-of-analytics.html”>
Urchin Software to bring user-centered design to their strong
development skills. I couldn't be more pleased with the
results.

You can find out more at the http://analytics.blogspot.com/2007/05/new-version-of-google-analytics.html”>
Google Analytics Blog and be sure to check out http://services.google.com/analytics/tour/index_en-US.html”>this
demo for more details.
